Hey! Welcome to "Thoughts From the World's Most Pessimistic Runner!" You'll see a lot of things on the Internet about running and how great it is. I personally don't like running long distances, but I'm going to try something new and do the Couch to 5k program, which is an app you can download on Apple and Android phones. It costs $2.99, but apparently works really well. I decided to document my journey in the form of a blog. However, since I don't like running, my posts will be my thoughts (aka complaints, but not whining) and experiences (aka everything that went wrong) of each day that I go running, with a photo or two included. Be warned, if you've come to this blog looking for encouragement to run, you won't find it here (and I'm not sure why you'd see the blog address and think that you would find running positivity). Although who knows? By the time I get to the 5k I may like running (yeah right). So if you're like me and you're just running to be able to run a 5k and don't like running at all, this is the site for you.
How the Couch to 5k app works:
The running sessions start easy and get harder and harder. There are nine weeks, and each week has three days (meaning you run three times a week. That's how often I'm going to be posting). There are several different "coaches" that provide encouragement and tell you when to jog and when to walk. Each session is about half an hour long, and the app logs your total distance and time throughout all of your workouts.
